The MMORTS that boasts some impressive graphics (For an MMORTS), World of Battles,  is going in to open beta and is available from www.worldofbattles.com.

What I like about this game is the fact that it is client side (meaning download) which allows for much better graphics compared to vast amount of mainly web-based MMORTS on the market.  This game may not apeal to the larger gaming poulation, but for those hard core strategists out there, this game will probably grab your attention.

World of Battles takes place in a medieval universe that holds nine races battling it out to control the entire world. All 9 of the fantasy races are playable, from humans to Amazons, the Living Dead through to Orcs and Dwarves. World of Battles allows bring a nice level of customization, right down to individual soldiers within your battalions. Once your troops are recruited, trained and ready for combat it’s up to you to decide on how best to equip them before heading out into the field of battle.

The main RTS comes into play on the actual battlefield, requireing alot of tough tactical choices. Battles involve up to eight armies with hundreds of units in each, only those with a strong tactical head will claim victory.

World of Battles is developed by Frogwares Studios and published by Focus Home Interactive for the PC. It is free-to-play and available from www.worldofbattles.com
